Marin Alsop Leads Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring, Jan. 8 & 11

Music Director Marin Alsop will lead the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) in Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 8 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 3 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore. Also on the Classical Concert Series program are Barber’s Medea’s Meditation and Dance of Vengeance and Osvaldo Golijov’s Rose of the Winds (BSO premiere).

Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Celebrates the 2014 Holiday Season with Messiah, The Nutcracker and More

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) celebrates the 2014 holiday season with a wide variety of concert programming, from the traditional annual performances of Handel’s Messiah with the Concert Artist of Baltimore to an all-new collaboration with D.C.-based dance troupe Step Afrika! in a presentation of Duke Ellington’s 1960 jazz interpretation of The Nutcracker.

Marin Alsop Leads Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in a Program of Bernstein and Beethoven, Nov. 21-23

In a program that continues the 2014-2015 season theme of spirituality in music, Music Director Marin Alsop pays tribute to her mentor Leonard Bernstein. Maestra Alsop will lead the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) in a concert featuring the works of both Bernstein and Beethoven, Friday, November 21 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, November 23 at 3 p.m at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and Saturday, November 22 at 8 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore.
