Midweek Concert: The Remarkable Farkle McBride
***In spite of the past events, we are excited to confirm that Thursday’s 10 am Midweek concert will proceed as scheduled. We realize that a number of students will not be able to attend, but invite those who can to please come. We hope that for those who can attend, this will be a well-needed moment of music. Please note that the 11:30 performance has been cancelled.
As we anticipate many will not be able to attend, we are delighted that we will offering a very special opportunity to those schools who were schedule to attend either Tuesday’s or Thursday’s performances. For the first time, the BSO will be piloting a live-stream of these concerts, which will also be available after the concerts conclude. This will be made available via a private, password-protected link on Ustream. We hope to send this link and password through on Wednesday evening in preparation for Thursday’s concert. Please do note that this is very much a pilot for us, so we apologize in advance if there are any technical issues.
As always, for any questions please call the Education Department (410) 783-8118 or Education@BSOmusic.org.***

This BSO Midweek Concert celebrates youth in music with a concert all about young performers, composers and young audiences. With selections from Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro, Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnol performed by fifth grader Brandon Du, Rossini’s William Tell Overture, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumble Bee and more, the audience will dazzle in the delights of youth at its best and learn about the instrument families along the way. Then, experience the orchestral adaptation of actor John Lithgow’s mesmerizing children’s book where the fickle, yet lovable, Remarkable Farkle McBride brings the sounds and rhythms of the orchestra to life, dramatized by actors from the Baltimore School for the Arts.
Tiny Tots: Pre K – Kindergarten (10:00 AM)
These interactive concerts introduce students to the instruments of the orchestra and provide a gateway into thinking about music through other subjects.
Prime Time: Grades 1-3 (11:30 AM)
Prime Time concerts excite students through musical exploration and an introduction into arts integrated curriculum links.
