Allison Taylor
Allison Taylor is excited to join the second violin section of the Baltimore Symphony for the 2023-2024 season! Prior to joining the BSO, Allison was a violin fellow and co-concertmaster of the New World Symphony. Recent performances include playing with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, the Bach Double Violin Concerto alongside Midori, playing with the National Tour of HADESTOWN, and soloing with the Count Basie Orchestra. Allison has been awarded fellowships to participate in summer festivals including the Music Academy of the West, Spoleto Festival USA, Aspen Music Festival and School, and the National Repertory Orchestra. Allison is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where she studied with David Halen. Additional teachers include Stephen Majeske and Ida Bieler.
Allison is the creative director and founder of Music:Deconstructed LLC, a new organization dedicated to creating fresh and exciting opportunities that contribute to the diversification of voices and representation in the performing arts. She continues to engage in research and advocacy for the intersection of music, gender, education, and performance.
Recent composition projects include a two-act comedic musical, Diseducated, co-written with Sammy Sussman and The Bachelor: The Musical: A Video, a multi-episode Instagram-based musical written with Sammy Sussman.
