Magaly Seay
A native of Philadelphia, Violist Magaly Rojas Seay began her studies on violin at the age of nine in the public school system and later on the viola at the age of sixteen. As a young artist, Ms. Seay earned a spot in the National Symphony Orchestra Apprentice program as well as the Summer Music Institute program where her training was in orchestral and chamber music. She continued her education at The Catholic University of America where she received a B.Mus. and M.Mus. in viola performance.
Ms. Seay is in high demand as a collaborative artist in the Washington, DC and Baltimore area, having played regularly with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra, Washington Concert Opera, PostClassical Ensemble, Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, and various chamber music groups. She has performed in concert halls across the U.K. and Spain and in Oregon at the Britt Music Festival. Ms. Seay is a tenured member of the Maryland Symphony Orchestra where she holds the title of Associate Principal Viola as well as a core member of the Savannah Philharmonic in Savannah, GA. Ms. Seay plays on a 19th century Italian viola made by Giuseppe Sgarbi.
