Sean Gordon
Sean Gordon is an active bassoonist and contrabassoonist in the Washington, DC and Baltimore metropolitan areas. He is excited to join the Baltimore Symphony during their 2022/2023 season as Contrabassoon/Utility Bassoonist. Prior to this appointment, Sean has performed regularly as a freelance musician with the Baltimore, National, and Richmond Symphonies among many other orchestras and ensembles. Since 2018 he has spent his summers as Second Bassoon in the Chautauqua Symphony in Chautauqua, New York. Sean received his Bachelor of Music degree from the Oberlin Conservatory studying with George Sakakeeny, and his Master of Music degree from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music under Benjamin Kamins. He has attended the Spoleto and Sarasota Music Festivals, and the National Repertory Orchestra.
